Verifying Your Domain So Zulu Can Send Emails on Your Behalf
To ensure emails sent through Zulu appear as if they come from your business domain (e.g., yourbusiness.com), you need to verify your domain by adding DNS records.
Note: We recommend you use an SMTP server instead of the below, as the below is potentially less reliable.
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Access Your Domain's DNS Settings
- Log in to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Google Domains).
- Navigate to the DNS settings or DNS management section.
Step 2: Add the Required DNS Records
Zulu requires you to add three types of DNS records: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
A. Add the SPF Record
- Locate the option to add a new TXT record (or modify the existing one)
- If this record doesn't exist, skip to step 3. Otherwise continue:
- Simply add "include:spf.getzulu.io" after the "v=spf1" section
- Use these details:
- Type: TXT
- Host/Name:
@
(or your domain name, e.g.,yourbusiness.com
) - Value:
v=spf1 include:spf.getzulu.io ~all
- TTL: 3600 (or the default)
Step 3: Test Your Emails
Once verified:
- Send a test email from Zulu to yourself.
- Go to 'Contacts' > 'Send Message' and select your own contact record.
- Check if it lands in Inbox (not Spam).
- Use MXToolbox to confirm your records are active.
